During the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Conference on April 30, 3009, in Birmingham, AL, Ben H. Harris, Jr., former president of the Alabama State Bar, was elected to a two-year term as President of the Eleventh Circuit Historical Society. The Societys mission is to capture and record the history of the federal courts in the Circuit and foster a public appreciation of the role and impact of the federal court system in the states encompassed by the Eleventh Circuit. Harris will lead a Board of Trustees composed of lawyers and legal scholars who represent the historical interests of the Circuit.
