ICE Changes Position on Pre-Population for Section 1 of I-9

Oct 18, 2013 | Press | 0 comments

The Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Worksite Enforcement Unit has made an important shift from its previous position with respect to the electronic population of information in Section 1 of the I-9 by electronic programs. ICE had previously represented that pre-population of Section 1 by electronic I-9 programs was always prohibited. We suggest that employers wait for further formal guidance from ICE before implementing pre-population of Section 1 of the I-9 by electronic I-9 programs. For help with your business’ I-9 compliance program, call Johnstone Adams at (251) 432-7682 or toll-free at (866) 732-3267, or visit our Website.
